English Translation

(1) In the morning I remember Gananatha, the friend of the Lord,

Whose two tusks are resplendent with vermilion,

Who holds a goad in His hand to break obstacles, a formidable staff,

Who is worshipped by the multitude of leaders of the gods including Indra.

(2) In the morning I bow to the four-faced one who is worshipped,

Who grants all desired boons,

Him, the short one, the lord of the twice-born, the sacrificial cord,

The son of Shiva, the playful one, auspicious to Shiva.

(3) In the morning I worship the fearless one, who is indeed the fire that destroys

The grief of devotees, the Lord of ganas, with a face like an auspicious elephant,

Who destroys the forest of ignorance, who increases enthusiasm,

The noble son of the Lord of all.

(4) This three-verse hymn is sacred and always bestows sovereignty,

Whosoever, rising at dawn, reads it with diligence, that man.
