English Translation

(1) O Lord, who captivated the king of Pandyas with prior meritorious deeds,

Whose lotus feet are worshipped by the wise and are purifying,

Who bears the full moon as a forehead mark and is rich in valor,

Accompanied by the complete asterism, O Bhoothanatha, protect me.

(2) O Lord, born from the self, dear to Shiva and Achyuta,

Primordial Lord Bhoothanatha, granting the contemplation of the virtuous and devoted,

Adorned with prosperity, pleasing with the sound of the Vedas, eternal,

Accompanied by the complete asterism, O Bhoothanatha, protect me.

(3) O ocean of mercy, of soft form as a million flower arrows,

Who enjoys the five products of the cow and sweet foods like modaka,

Protector of the world formed from the five elements and protector of all beings,

Accompanied by the complete asterism, O Bhoothanatha, protect me.

(4) Whose eyes are like the sun, moon, and fire, fascinating to behold,

With gentle smile, handsome, riding the celestial elephant,

Whose feet are worshipped by Indra, giver of life to the virtuous,

Accompanied by the complete asterism, O Bhoothanatha, protect me.

(5) Of powerful arms, renowned for valor and strength,

Beautiful in form, worshipped by gods beginning with Brahma,

Riding the elephant that is Indra's elephant, beloved of devotees,

Accompanied by the complete asterism, O Bhoothanatha, protect me.

(6) O Lord, who dances in the mind of the extremely generous,

Ever pure, stainless, unparalleled protector of dharma,

Of the form of truth, of the form of liberation, of the nature of all gods,

Accompanied by the complete asterism, O Bhoothanatha, protect me.

(7) Delighting in Sama music, of gentle nature, protector of dharma,

With handsome face worthy of worship by the virtuous,

Teacher of the policy of conciliation, division, and the staff of punishment,

(8) O bestower of the good path, easily attained by gods and men,

Of manifest consciousness, protector of dharma, lord of all beings,

Who dances in the famous five mountain abodes,

(9) Adorned with spear, bow, arrow, sword, thunderbolt, and weapons,

Served by spirits with the brilliance of a million suns,

Integrated with the wheel of time and imagination,

(10) Who teaches the eternal true knowledge, wondrous self,

Illuminating the worldly illusion like the water-bearing clouds,

Of manifest bright consciousness, of divine abode, very prosperous,
