English Translation

I remember in the morning that worthy Savitra,

His form is indeed the orb, his body that which is poured in offering,

His rays are uniform, the cause of creation,

The lotus-eyed of Brahma, with an inconceivable form. || 1 ||

In the morning I bow to the sun, whose body, mind, and word

Are worshipped by Brahma, Indra, and the primeval gods,

The cause of releasing rain and restraining,

The protector of the three worlds, the embodiment of the three gunas. || 2 ||

In the morning I worship Savita, who possesses infinite power,

The destroyer of masses of sin, the enemy, and disease, the supreme one,

That form of time who calculates all worlds,

The primal god who releases from the bondage of worldly existence. || 3 ||

Whoever reads these three verses of the sun every morning,

Is freed from all diseases and attains supreme happiness. || 4 ||
